Glossy Box - Special Harrods Edition

So this morning the postman banged on the door at a new personal best record for early o clock and I had no choice but to partake in a braless dash downstairs (don't worry I was wearing a top)!
It was Glossy Box with their special edition Harrods box of goodies :)
GB clearly chose a simple black and white classic chanel style look for their box this month.

I am a little disappointed with my box as I must admit it's not quite what I was expecting for a Harrods deluxe special edition.
Perhaps it is because i have already recently had Clarins products in my box I couldn't help but feel a very familiar feeling when opening my box.

I am pleased with the Lancome Mascara as it's an instant full body mascara and my eyelashes always need a bit of a boost.
My initial reaction to the Valentino perfume was "Hello granny!" but actually it smells nice once it's been on for a few minutes and that strong smell fades.
Looking forward to trying the Molton Brown vitalising vitamin shower and bath as I haven't tried any Molton Brown products before.

So overall I think the box would be better suited for someone else.
For example i'd like to think at the age of 24 I wouldn't need to try anti-ageing and extra firming products let alone buy them. Aside from Lancome and Clarins which I unfortunately have just received I wouldn't really say the brands used are that high end enough for a Harrods box.

Of course with all boxes it's luck of the draw and I have seen some people have received Burberry lipsticks and YSL products.

I have emailed Glossy Box and asked them to remove the spa products checkbox from my account so I don't keep getting similar products so if like me you felt the same might be an idea to check what products your subscribed to.

On the plus side I have a lovely Harrods signature box for storing things in and i'm sure once I test the products they will all be great products.
Reviews will come as and when I get the chance to trial them so stay tuned for that.

What did you think of your Harrods Glossy Box?

It's Glossy Box Time :D

Glossy box faithful arrived today and similarly to before I will test them properly before I post reviews so stay tuned for the full reviews coming soon.
Here's this month's box and products for you all...

I tested out this lipgloss with not much high hope as i'm really NOT a lipgloss girl they never look right on me and I never like the consistency of them.

The lipgloss is called DUWOP Venom Gloss and to my complete shock horror I really like this! The slight tint is beautiful and the consistency is great so it may well have converted me to lipgloss. Just checked their site and they have a range of different colours.
I can already notice a plumpness to my lips from using this product.
This will be lovely for the summer, and has a slight tingle sensation to the lipgloss which feels really fresh. It's full of spices that make your lips swell, really clever hence the name venom, they say:

Blending that same spicy concoction of cinnamon, wintergreen and ginger with skin softening ingredients like jojoba, avocado and sunflower oil, beeswax for protection, and green tea for soothing, Venom Gloss gives you full, soft, hydrated lips.

Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner Emerald

This is a review for Eyeko skinny eyeliner in colour emerald.
I'm writting this drinking a lovely cup of tea (standard), eating a delicious maccie ds blueberry muffin from breakfast and watching the snow falling out the window.
My two year old daughter is running around like a loonie in her all in one snow suit dying to go out and play so will make this quick.

Eyeko skinny eyeliner costs £9.50 and it comes in various colours black, midnight blue, plum, powder pin, dove grey and this one emerald green.
Must say out of all the colours emerald green would probably be the last colour i would have chosen but i teamed it with a similar emerlad green eyeshadow from the sleek sotrm palette.
I applied baby pink eyeshadow as a base colour to my entire lid and pink on the outter edges of my lid and emerald green in the centre.
Next I added the emerald green eyeliner to the top of my eye and a little on the lower lid at the edges.
To finish the look I applied my all time fav mascara MUA brown/black.

I would advise this look is more of a night time look as it's quite dramatic but overall the effect is good you can use the tip of the eyeliner for a subtle look as I did or you can use the side of the pencil for a thicker bolder look.

I think £9.50 is a bit steep for this eyeliner but would love to try the powder pink out as i've never used a pink eyeliner.

January Glossy Box Reviews

This is the first time i've indulged in Glossy Box mayhem, I know, where have i been!?
Didn't quite know what to expect but from the get go I was impressed!

Firstly the packaging is AMAZING they really make you feel special your thinking to yourself "is it my birthday, what's the date... surely not?"  Confusing times!

You get a lovely quality box on this ocassion hot pink, tied with gorgeously girly ribbon and sealed with a PINK heart sticker which all cries out OPEN ME! Inside there is shredded zig zag pink paper to cushion your products.

The box makes a great container for keeping your make up in afterwards, can't wait to build up my collection of these little boxes.

Verdict I am in Glossy love.

Now to the products, I've given these a couple of days testing for a fair honest review. The Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner - Full size for £9.50 I will be reiewing in another post with a make up tutorial soon.

Clarins Extra Firming Day Cream – RRP 50ml for £46.50
This firming cream is amazing I used it on my face as it has really been suffering the effects of winter lately and it totally cured all my dry patches and made my skin feel soft and smooth for the rest of the day.

Clarins Extra Firming Night Cream - RRP 50ml for £48
Same as above but night version. Love Clarins such a holy grail of skincare and was suprised to have two 15ml samples bearing in mind the full size, 50ml is nearly £50 that's like £15 samples to try, bargain should last a while!

Hybride Skin Perfecting primer, Dewy finish from Murad - 30ml for £29
I don't know why but I didn't expect too much from this little bottle when I first saw the consistency. Since then I have tried it a couple of times and it really is a great base primer for your make up. Provides a great finish totally minimizes appearance of pores especially when used with maybelline satin liquid foundation. Winner!

FAB Body Moisturiser - 237g for £13
This moisturiser would be great for someone perhaps with quite sensitive skin who likes simple products that don't have an aroma. As i'm sure you are well aware some products are better off without a smell than some of the smells they come with!
I couldn't see anything special or mind blowing about this product so in price comparison would personally choose simples moisturiser at a much lower cost.

(Squeals) Glossy Box is Here!

My first ever Glossy Box has arrived today, will to do a proper write up tomorrow when i've had the chance to test all the products but here's a sneaky peek... so pretty!
