Purple Shampoo

One of my all time favourite products that I use on a regular basis is Rusk Sensories Bright Shampoo.
What they claim: Rusk Sensories Bright Shampoo is an effective cleansing shampoo that instantly revitalises & brightens dull, lifeless, silver/grey or white hair with translucent brighteners.
At first I was sceptical this would work, who wouldn't be a little scared to put bright purple shampoo on their hair? Saying this I read many reviews about silver and purple shampoos fixing the dreaded brassiness that blonde hair tends to get so I gave this a try.
It's brilliant and a total must for blondies! It costs around a tenner for quite a big bottle (400ml) but you only need to use it once a week or when you feel your hair needs a bit of a boost.

Mug Hug Love!

I am so excited a package has just arrived in the post and I had to share this amazing find with you all! I have stumbled across these absolutely gorgeous products they are just too cute!

I am a massive tea addict so when I saw these I thought that is so me :)
These are called mug hugs and they come in a range of different designs. Great for protecting your hands from a hot mug.... but who am I kidding it's mainly about the cuteness!

A lovely lady called Debbie makes these and as always I want to encourage people to shop handmade. I always feel it is such a shame that craft is a bit of a dying art here in the UK and with mothers day coming up why not get one of these as a unique gift. Better still treat yourself like i did, or if your boyfriend wants to get you something for valentines and you can't think of anything (like that's going to happen) lol why not point him in the direction of these.

Here are my little beauts for you to see would love to know what you think?

Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner Emerald

This is a review for Eyeko skinny eyeliner in colour emerald.
I'm writting this drinking a lovely cup of tea (standard), eating a delicious maccie ds blueberry muffin from breakfast and watching the snow falling out the window.
My two year old daughter is running around like a loonie in her all in one snow suit dying to go out and play so will make this quick.

Eyeko skinny eyeliner costs £9.50 and it comes in various colours black, midnight blue, plum, powder pin, dove grey and this one emerald green.
Must say out of all the colours emerald green would probably be the last colour i would have chosen but i teamed it with a similar emerlad green eyeshadow from the sleek sotrm palette.
I applied baby pink eyeshadow as a base colour to my entire lid and pink on the outter edges of my lid and emerald green in the centre.
Next I added the emerald green eyeliner to the top of my eye and a little on the lower lid at the edges.
To finish the look I applied my all time fav mascara MUA brown/black.

I would advise this look is more of a night time look as it's quite dramatic but overall the effect is good you can use the tip of the eyeliner for a subtle look as I did or you can use the side of the pencil for a thicker bolder look.

I think £9.50 is a bit steep for this eyeliner but would love to try the powder pink out as i've never used a pink eyeliner.

January Glossy Box Reviews

This is the first time i've indulged in Glossy Box mayhem, I know, where have i been!?
Didn't quite know what to expect but from the get go I was impressed!

Firstly the packaging is AMAZING they really make you feel special your thinking to yourself "is it my birthday, what's the date... surely not?"  Confusing times!

You get a lovely quality box on this ocassion hot pink, tied with gorgeously girly ribbon and sealed with a PINK heart sticker which all cries out OPEN ME! Inside there is shredded zig zag pink paper to cushion your products.

The box makes a great container for keeping your make up in afterwards, can't wait to build up my collection of these little boxes.

Verdict I am in Glossy love.

Now to the products, I've given these a couple of days testing for a fair honest review. The Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner - Full size for £9.50 I will be reiewing in another post with a make up tutorial soon.

Clarins Extra Firming Day Cream – RRP 50ml for £46.50
This firming cream is amazing I used it on my face as it has really been suffering the effects of winter lately and it totally cured all my dry patches and made my skin feel soft and smooth for the rest of the day.

Clarins Extra Firming Night Cream - RRP 50ml for £48
Same as above but night version. Love Clarins such a holy grail of skincare and was suprised to have two 15ml samples bearing in mind the full size, 50ml is nearly £50 that's like £15 samples to try, bargain should last a while!

Hybride Skin Perfecting primer, Dewy finish from Murad - 30ml for £29
I don't know why but I didn't expect too much from this little bottle when I first saw the consistency. Since then I have tried it a couple of times and it really is a great base primer for your make up. Provides a great finish totally minimizes appearance of pores especially when used with maybelline satin liquid foundation. Winner!

FAB Body Moisturiser - 237g for £13
This moisturiser would be great for someone perhaps with quite sensitive skin who likes simple products that don't have an aroma. As i'm sure you are well aware some products are better off without a smell than some of the smells they come with!
I couldn't see anything special or mind blowing about this product so in price comparison would personally choose simples moisturiser at a much lower cost.

Victoria Beckham - Harvey Nics

Victoria Beckham has just launched her new fashion line at Harvey Nichols called wait for it.... "Victoria" hmmm. I wonder how long it took them to think of the name probably all of one minute.
Don't get me wrong I really like Victoria Beckham but I can't help feeling disheartened at this line. Especially as she is known for being a stylish fashionista i expected this to be apparent in her own designs.

Here are the dresses....

The idea behind this line was to create some simple shift dresses that are a bit more fun.
Unfortunately, the dresses don't really appeal to me, the colour (or lack of) seems a bit unimaginative and the styles don't even look very flattering on the mannequins. For £395 I would be expecting alot more that's for sure!
I have just scoured her full range of dresses and that's 5 minutes of my life i'll never get back. I wanted to find one dress that I liked, just one!

Most of them are very plain and the ones with a bit more design to them look like pyjamas.

Woooo Sleepover-chic!

Success a dress I like

Tannage and the gunk i use :)

So it's Friday which can only mean one thing.. picture Friday :D
The sun is shining and I've just done my tan which reminded me I need to blog about the tan I use because it is amazeballs!

The trick is with tan to try not to look like you've just dived from a 10 metre diving board into a giant bag of wotsits not a good look. Now you may very well have friends that look like this but that should even more make you want to aspire to be something other than a wotsit.
Trust me I know I too managed to break through my inner wotsit and opt for a better shade so here goes.

Drum roll........TA DAAAAA!

Xen Tan Dark Lotion - Around £20 shop around ebay often does it cheaper
Xen Tan Scrub - £10

Most of you will definitely have heard of Xen Tan but incase you have seen it and never tried it and are struggling to find a good tan give it a go! I also use the Xen Tan scrub with mine that basically makes the tan last longer and smells like original source minty shower gel, delish!

Amazing Bakeware!

As you will most likely be aware if you are a dutiful perfect homemaker such as myself cough cough... pancake day is coming up soon so I wanted to get this review up quick. Even though this tool is a bit of a luxury and not essential it's such a great invention and I LOVE it!

You may not have heard of Chicago Metallic and if not it is a company that specialise in bakeware such as pans and baking tools.

These two beauties come from their range, firstly the batter dispenser.
Like myself you may be fed up of using a spoon to fill your cupcake trays and the drippy mess it makes, this tool helps you dispense the perfect amount of batter everytime! So simple yet so genius! It has a quick-release handle for instant shut-off, holds a massive 900ML (that's ALOT of pancakes) and is dishwasher safe Hallelujia!

I also invested in a cupcake plunger which was under £5 yet another amazing design. This tool simply plunges out the centre of your cupcake to be placed back on top again after you have filled it with the icing of your choice! YUM!

Batter Dispenser £11.99
Cupcake Plunger £4.99

My Favourie Routine Beauty Products

My Favourite beauty products that I use on a regular basis are:

FACE

  • Clinique dramatically different moisturiser
I LOVE this moisturiser! In the winter months especially, skin is more prone to becoming dry form the cold air this moisturiser is excellent at rehydrating the skin after a bath or shower and provides a brilliant base before applying foundation.
  •
Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation in colour Fawn
This foundation has been around for a while as most of you will know and will always be an absolute essential for my cosmetic case.
From my experience with other foundations this has been the first one that really delivers on it's claims. The application is smooth "satin perfect" and easy to blend and I believe it really does provide a poreless look with a slight luminous finish.

Average Price, £7.99 available from Boots, Superdrug etc.

I am a huge fan of MUA makeup range and this blusher is genius as it is a combination of a blusher and highlighter in one.
English Rose has different tones and colours to really highlight the cheek bone and adds a slight glisten too.
The pretty mosaic effect really appealed to me because it's so unique and if you haven't tried this range of blushers yet give them a go they are amazing.

Superdrug, MUA Mosaic Blush in colour English Rose £2.50

Boots Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick in colour Candy Mist

It's no secret that Boot's Natural collection make up is cheap and cheerful but I love this lipstick!

The lipstick is very moisturising and could probably pass as more of a tinted lip balm it has a very sheer look perfect for day wear.
I love the light pink colour of it and the pigment is good enough for the price.
One thing I noticed with more high end make up brands is wear are the paler lipsticks? My mission in life is to find a high end baby pink lipstick that will have good durability.

The durability on this isn't great and can't help feeling in comparison with MUA's budget range the packaging could be a bit better but then what do you expect for a lipstick that's £1.99

Babyliss Waving Wand Review - Amazing

Mr Lilly Belle very generously got me an early Christmas present and I am so thrilled with it I had to write a review immediately!

I saw a you tube video on this curling want but couldn't find any blog reviews so thought I would add my review and pics for other people who might be unsure and wanting to by this.

For ages I've been looking for a method of curling my hair but keeping the length and I've finally found it. Before whenever I've used rollers or ghds to curl my hair the hair always used to spring up and I ended up loosing all the length of my hair and looking like a Victorian doll, not a good look.

The curler I have discovered is called Babyliss Waving Wand and I love it!
The temp goes up to 200 degrees and you can choose how hot you want it, another feature I love.

Here are some pics of the look i achieved with the wand, it's a cross between bohemian and mermaid is the best way I can think to describe it but you keep the length!! Hallelujah!

And while we're on the subject of curly hair my daughter Lilly who is 2 has the curliest hair really gorgeous ringlets and we have no idea where they come from as i have naturally straight hair and so does her daddy.

We think it might be my mum as she had curly hair as a baby so now we can be matching lol.

MUA Review - Too good to be true!

 MUA Trio Palettes: £2.50, Superdrug
MUA Quad Metallic Palettes: £3, Superdrug
MUA Brown Mascara: £2, Superdrug
Don't pinch yourself too hard when you see these prices i assure you they are 100% real!

My second review is going to of Superdrug's MUA range and i am very excited about this one!

I have recently purchased a haul of MUA eyeshadow palettes from superdrug to use on myself for the photos i take wearing my products. I wasn't looking to have to take a small loan out to buy a good range of colours so naturally the Make Up Academy's budget range appealed to me.
I chose the trio and the quad metallic palettes and for ALL of the eyeshadows in the picture above it only cost a grand total of £21 as the quad pallettes that are usually £3 each were 2 for £2.99 bargain!!!

The colours are all stunning and have amazing pigment to them and blend really well, what i love the most is that they are soooo easy to use. You don't have to be great at doing make up at all, the palettes are arranged in co-ordinating colours so they've done all the hard matching work for you.

I tend to apply the lightest shade in the palette all over my lid and underneathe my eyebrow area then use the second lightest colours on my lid building up the colour and then to finish the look off i get the narrow brush applicator and highlight the crease of the lid with the darkest colour in the trio.... et voila SO easy even i can do it!

I can't reccommend these eyeshadows enough for value for money and quality you get.

John Frieda Precision Foam Hair Colour Review

John Frieda Precision Foam 10B Extra Light Beige Blonde - £10, Superdrug

My first review for my blog is going to be for John Frieda's higher price range hair dyes. I was in need of a refresher for my hair and didn't want to go with the usual brands like clairol etc as i always end up with a reddish tinge to the roots.

I decided to disguard the usual £5 ranges and opted for a more expensive dye to see if the results were different and I am amazed at the results. The precision foam comes in a range of beautiful colours I chose colour 10B Extra Light Beige Blonde for my dull and distressed tassles and the application couldn't be easier.

The foam is so deceptive because at first glance you think that's not going to cover my hair especially if you have long hair like mine but this really is the foam of all foams that just doesn't stop giving! Bearing in mind i've been dying my hair with home kits since i was about 14 this was the first time i've ever not needed to use all of the product which was excellent to ensure full coverage!

It comes with a conditioner like they all do that you can use once a week after you dye your hair and this smells gorgeous. Most conditioners i've tried just get soaked up into the first patch of hair it has contact with and then i need more for the rest but this one has more of a liquid consistency and a small amount goes a long way.

I was so pleased with the colour i now believe i have found my staple dye product, now let's just hope they don't go and discontinue it :)
